Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Fragrance | Sean Opry by Inez & Vinoodh

victor and rolf

Sean Opry was photographed by Inez & Vinoodh for Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb fragrance campaign.
Spicebomb comes out in January 2012 as an explosive and extroverted oriental-woody and spicy composition. Perfumer Olivier Polge blended spices with sensual undertones, creating two diametrically opposed fragrant accords: 1. the addictive and fiery one and 2. the explosive and icy one. The fiery accord contains notes of chili, saffron, leather, tobacco and vetiver. The explosive one includes bergamot, grapefruit, elemi and pink pepper.

Top notes: bergamot, grapefruit, elemi, pink pepper
Heart: cinnamon, saffron, chili
Base: leather, tobacco, vetiver

Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw for CHANEL Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign | Styled by Carine Roitfeld

Joan Smalls for David Yurman
When Carine Roitfeld left Paris Vogue, it was like we were free-falling in a cold, black abyss. To imagine this land without Carine at the helm of the Fashion Bible was like staring into a black crystal ball—or the eyes of Death. Was there to be no more Carine Street Style at the Paris shows? No more Carine-styled covers or editorials to rub against our cheeks? It was a whole new world, and one we didn't think we wanted to live in.

But we shouldn't have feared. Paris Vogue didn't make Carine Roitfeld, and it couldn't unmake her. After spending a ridiculously short time collecting herself and switching gears, the former editrix jumped right back into it. She started styling up a storm for V, Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy; she started modeling for Barney's, W, and i-D; she even announced that she was developing her own quarterly fashion magazine. And now, she's been hired by Karl Lagerfeld to style a second Chanel campaign. Carine Roitfeld is nothing if not in our faces.

[Behind the Brand - ROLEX] 1927 Rolex Oyster Introduction Advertorial

Hans Wilsdorf had a brilliant marketing mind, and he successfully capitalized on the public relations exposure generated by Mercedes Gleitze's vindication swim. Hans Wilsdorf finally found his real Mermaid to showcase his Oyster.

The following Rolex advertorial ran on the cover of the London Daily Mail Newspaper on November 24, 1927, and it showcased the Rolex Oyster along with Mercedes Gleitze.

 Inspiration or Imitation?

The photo with Yves Saint Laurent was taken in 1971 by Jeanloup Sieff for the designer's first men's fragrance, Homme, and at the time it was super scandalous.
The photo with Davig Gandy was taken in 2011 by Mariano Vivanco for Dolce & Gabbana fall winter 2011-2012 eyewear campaign.
