David Beckham is to cash in on his Armani success by bringing out his own underwear collection.
Beckham, 36, has helped design a range of boxer shorts and briefs which will bear his name.
There will also be T-shirts and other bodywear, as well as a new fragrance called Homme.
The move comes after his successful modelling collaboration with Armani, when he starred in huge billboard ads in New York, Paris and London.
It proved a big money-spinner for the fashion giant and Becks, nicknamed Goldenballs, can now expect to rake in millions of pounds if his range proves a hit.
The LA Galaxy star said: “We have spent time working on the fit, the fabric and the style to ensure the product looks and feels the very best and I am hugely proud of the result.
“I can’t wait to show people the collection — although I’m not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again.”
Becks’s news was announced on Twitter by wife Victoria, who posted a logo from the new range.
David added: “The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani. They told me their gross turnover in 2007 was around £14.1million, and after the campaign in 2008 it went up to £38.7million. It proved to me there is a real market for good-looking, well-made bodywear.”
Beckham is following in the footsteps of Victoria, who has her own fashion range.
There is no launch date set as yet for the clothing collection but the new scent will hit stores in September.
