Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Trends - Summer Blues
Reminiscent of the crystalline Mediterranean waters, blue is the colour for ss 12. From navy to azur passing by lapis and indigo the whole tonal spectrum of blue was present on the Milan/Paris catwalks. Teamed with orange or yellow, blue can make a real statement. Paired with white, the marina chic look is complete.
Star Style - Usher
Usher was spotted out on Day 3 at the 2011 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival walking with his entourage wearing Grey Ant sunglasses ($250) and a pair of Raf Simons Crocodile Pocket sneakers ($580). He also wore a bright blue denim jean with zip pocket detailing which looked very similar if not identical to the Balmain biker jeans.

Chinos and trousers are nothing new and the exclusivity of jeans as men’s staple casual legwear finished many seasons ago.
I’m not endorsing a full throttle leap into the effort. If you’re a bit of a ‘colour novice’ most definitely do not attempt to fish out a pair of old luminous chartreuse trousers reminiscent of the disco era.
If you’re a bit apprehensive of donning a colour a bit more ‘out there’ so to speak, but would like to be a bit more adventurous with your wardrobe choices this summer, start out by changing a familiar colour through shades. Alternate hues of red and purple are becoming more and more common on the high street. Once confident with your berry or plum legwear, electric blue or even pink chinos will seem far from intimidating.

Iconic American label Ralph Lauren presents its Rugged Icons Collection for the Holiday 2010 season. A collection of heritage styles, the Rugged Icons line pulls a selection of items from the RL archives and updates them with contemporary touches. Highlights include Nordic and Beacon patterned sweaters, classic plaid shirts, wide wale corduroys, and a nice arrangement of accessories, along with leather, hand-stitched boots featuring buffalo plaids and crepe outsoles. The collection in its entirety is now available for purchase directly through the Ralph Lauren online store.
PHENOMENON 2011 Spring/Summer Collection
Japanese label PHENOMENON break through with a much more designer-friendly collection for next season, as opposed to the street-centric styles we’ve seen in the past. Headed by Takeshi Osumi, Spring/Summer 2011 comes full force with a strong variety of textiles, patterns, and cuts, all pairing a multitude of styles into what surprising equals well-matched outfits. Seen amongst all the earth tones is a an emphasis on the color blue, offered in various different shades throughout the line.

Oakley Marine Fade Frogskins Sunglasses
Oakley continues its with another release from the popular campaign. This new version for October features a marine fade/blue colorway with matching iridium lenses. As with all Frogskins, this version was produced in limited numbers with availability now through the Oakley webstore. Retail is set at $120 USD.
Levi’s 2010 Fall/Winter MADE & CRAFTED Collection
Levi’s XX subdivision MADE & CRAFTED has just released these three models to the Japanese market. The “Standard” is pictured here in a grainy, dark denim and as the name suggests is straight cut model with a simple fit. The “Slim”, again in a textured colorway, has been crafted from a stretchable denim and accordingly has a slimmer fit. Finally, the bleached “TAPERED” model is stressed around both the waist and ankle, allowing for a comfortable looser fit. Each model is designed to match quality with simplicity, with the series as a whole created to allow for diversity amongst recognised and celebrated styles.
BEAMS x BUZZ RICKSON 2010-11 Fall/Winter “Modern Aviator” Collection
BEAMS and TOYO ENTERPRISE’s BUZZ RICKSON label link up to create a new capsule for the 2010-11 fall/winter season titled, “Modern Aviator”. Based on BUZZ RICKSON’s stellar reproductions, the aviation inspired range re-creates a number of staple outerwear pieces from both pre and post World War II eras. Included is the “Souvenir Jacket”, the L-2 U.S. worn by the Air Force, the B-10 worn by the U.S. Army Air Force, the B-15C (MOD.) worn by the U.S. Air Force and finally, the U.S. Navy G1 jacket. The collection will be unveiled via a special event in Tokyo on October 1st, 2010 at BEAMS Shibuya.
The event will conclude on October 11th and then move to Osaka for a showing at BEAMS Shinsaibashi.
